As the show opens, we meet a new arrival to Bal Harbor, an amiable, expatriate fisherman named Cap Daulton (Gus Mercurio). Cap is filming a commercial video for the fishing charter service he's planning to open around these parts. But suddenly, he gets a couple of surprises: first, a friendly dolphin named Flipper shows up and then, almost immediately, an even more unbelievable sight .... an extremely rare white dolphin! Cap is determined to get that white dolphin on film. The only problem is, the white dolphin's not so easy to catch. And before you know it, Cap's boat founders on some rocks!

Meanwhile, back on land, we meet the remainder of our ongoing cast of characters. The new deputies at the Search and Rescue Station: Tom Hampton (Whip Hubley) and Quinn Garnett (Wren Brown), and the mystical intern Maya (Jessica Alba). We also meet the other "battlin'" interns, Holly (Anja Coleby) and Dean (Scott Michaelson). And, of course, the just arrived director of the Bal Harbor Institute, Jennifer Daulton (Elizabeth Morehead).

The action begins when Tom and Quinn receive a distressed call from Cap. Tom and Quinn perform a daring rescue and rush Cap back to shore. He's grateful, but more focused on using his white dolphin video to hustle potential fishing customers in The Shipwreck Cafe. And, he quickly gets the attention of at least one onlooker, a fellow with nefarious intentions on that white dolphin. Things get even more complicated when Jennifer shows up at The Shipwreck, because it turns out that Cap is her long estranged father. He has moved here to attempt a reconciliation (which doesn't exactly make Jennifer jump for joy). But, circumstances soon place Cap and Jennifer in a position where their familiar loyalties are fully tested when a slippery collector of rare animals for sale to super rich arrives in town with designs on the white dolphin. For that, he needs the assistance of Cap, Flipper and Jennifer. And he's not all that particular how he obtains it. What happens in the end? Tune in and find out.
