Maya, Holly, and Dean discover beach musician James Morris playing and singing the blues. That night, while James sleeps on the beach, only Flipper's intervention saves him from being run down by a stranger (Gandy) in a four-wheel drive vehicle. Tom, Jennifer, Quinn, and Cap see James play at the Shipwreck, but he makes a sudden exit on Cap's boat when Gandy appears in the crowd. Quinn, convinced he's heard James' music before, turns up the fact that his real name is Mo James, one of two James Brothers, a blues group from the late fifties. However, the group ended when Wood James died in a boating accident caused by an apparently intoxicated Mo, his younger brother. Mo was convicted, but fled before sentencing, becoming an itinerant musician to support himself. Quinn and Tom follow Cap to arrest Mo, only to learn that Mo's real fear is that he'll be murdered by Gandy, a former cop turned bounty hunter who's working for Eddie Walsh, the head of the record company the James Brothers recorded for. Flipper and friends try to unwind the mystery with help from unexpected places. Will they succeed?
