Keith is on the verge of a breakthrough in the dolphin communication experiment but is seriously injured in a diving accident. While in a coma ( while suffering from "the bends" ) he dreams of Flipper speaking and a plot to use the talking dolphin by the "evil" Dr. Vanhoff.
