     At the research center, Keith is finishing his plan to attach radio locators to several dolphins (including Flipper). Meanwhile, Mike and Maya are out on a boat with their friend Lyle. When Lyle crashes his father's boat into a navigational buoy, he tells his father Mike did it.
     Later Lyle is attacked by a dolphin in front of Maya. He is badly hurt and is taken to the hospital. After a second attack, the tracking devices are studied and it is confirmed that the attacking dolphin had to be Flipper. Lyle's father puts out a reward for Flipper.
     Keith and Pam save Flipper from bounty hunters but bring him in anyway to relocate him to an area where he'll be safe and not attack any more people. Flipper is taken far off shore and released.
     Later comes news that another swimmer was attacked with Flipper miles away. Realizing the attacking dolphin was not Flipper Keith confronts Lyle and his father about the boat accident and Flipper's innocence. Flipper is found and brought back to the area.
